Is Your Life On Repeat?
Does every day seem like the same? If so, read on...
I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought of was a sheet of paper I was given at a self-development seminar, many years ago. Here is what was on that paper:
"Autobiography In 5 Short Chapters"
Chapter 1
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost...I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter 2
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in this same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter 3
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there.
I still fall in...it's a habit...but, my eyes are open.
I know where I am
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
Chapter 4
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
Chapter 5
I walk down another street
I share this because it had a profound impact on me when I read it. It helped me to see that if I wanted change, it was going to have to be when I empowered myself and created it. When I chose to recognize that I am the one who has the power in my life to create the experiences that I desire.
Most clients come to me in Chapter 3, when the difficulty of how they are feeling meets their recognition that they have come as far as they are able with what they know. You are that powerful, you can create the life that you would like, and you don't have to do it alone. I want to be clear that "walking down another street" is not an attempt to avoid, it is a recognition that there is another way. I help walk people go that other direction, understand why they do what they do, how to do it differently, and ultimately, how to enjoy their life, every day.
If you have gotten this far in this letter I presume there is some recognition that there is a part of you that would like it to be different. I want to encourage you to take a next step toward the life you aspire to have and connect with me. Let me help you discover how to walk down another street, together.
Peace,
Erin "walking down another street" Mac
